DOOR - A movable barrier at an entrance. DOORS - Movable barriers at entrances. Doors can take you forward into areas where you have never been before. Or Doors can be the portal through which you pass returning to places and things of the past.

Today there are some things we need to consider and learn concerning doors.

1. We need to SHUT SOME DOORS

Genesis 4:1-8 NKJV

1 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, "I have acquired a man from the LORD."

2 Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

3 And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD.

4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering,

5 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.

6 So the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?

7 "If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it."

8 Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

Genesis 4:7 NKJV "If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it."

John 10:10 KJV - The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Often we talk about things which God considered sin. These things will separate you from God for all eternity. That compiled list comes from Galatians 5:19-21.

Galatians 5:19-21 NKJV

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,

20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,

21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Here are those words better defined:

Adultery - Sexual relations with someone other than your marriage partner

Fornication - Sexual relations between unmarried partners

Uncleanness - Impurity

Lewdness - crude and offensive in a sexual wayIdolatry - Image worship

Sorcery - Witchcraft - Derived from medications - magic, spells, Ouija Boards

Hatred - Hostility, opposition

Contentions - Debate, strife

Jealousies - Envy

Outbursts of wrath - Loss of control of ones temper resulting in sharp words and violent behavior

Selfish ambitions - Your own way without regard for anyone else

Dissensions - Disunity due to personal feelings and desires

Heresies - A party disunion - beliefs contrary to those beliefs generally accepted

Envy - Jealousy

Murders - To slay or slaughter

Drunkenness - Intoxication

Revelries - Rioting, being out of control

By participating in these things, we disqualify ourselves from Heaven and create many problems for not only ourselves, but others here on Earth. In essence, sin is the door to hell.

Sin desires, through the enemy of our soul - Satan - to overtake and consume you. Generally sin begins in a small way or in small ways. However, gradually there comes an acceleration which “sears your conscience.” Where you once stood against something, now you rationalize in order to make it seem right in your life.

1Timothy 4:2 KJV - Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Titus 1:15 KJV - Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

Authority over sin comes in the form of faith in God that you have the power to turn aside from sin.

Philippians 4:13 KJV - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

A door represents a new place, time or season for us to enter in. Unless we are alert to seeing new doors we will never be able to go through the third door.

Back to our key verse 1 Corinthians 16:9 NKJV - For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

First - A great and effective door has opened to me

Second - There are many adversaries

The doors we see are great.

The doors we see are effective.

The door opens to many adversaries.

4. We need to prepare to ENTER THE HEAVENLY DOOR

Revelation 4:1 NKJV - After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this."

What greater opportunity could we have than a door standing open in heaven?

By entering that door we will be given prophetic vision which will reveal the future to us.

First - The Lord tells us to “Come up here.”

Second - The Lord tells us He will reveal the future.

A move of God depends on that word move --- We must move

We are men & women of 1) Purpose, 2) Promise, and 3) Destiny

First, The Season of Breakthrough

Second, The Season of Possession

Third, The Season of Rule

Fourth, The Season of Rest
