Resurrection Day 2012 ~ Making A Difference

INTRODUCTION: Psalms 118:24 NKJV ~ This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Matthew 28:1-9 NCV

1 The day after the Sabbath day was the first day of the week. At dawn on the first day, Mary Magdalene and another woman named Mary went to look at the tomb.

2 At that time there was a strong earthquake. An angel of the Lord came down from heaven, went to the tomb, and rolled the stone away from the entrance. Then he sat on the stone.

3 He was shining as bright as lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.

4 The soldiers guarding the tomb shook with fear because of the angel, and they became like dead men.

5 The angel said to the women, "Don't be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus, who has been crucified.

6 He is not here. He has risen from the dead as he said he would. Come and see the place where his body was.

7 And go quickly and tell his followers, 'Jesus has risen from the dead. He is going into Galilee ahead of you, and you will see him there.'" Then the angel said, "Now I have told you."

8 The women left the tomb quickly. They were afraid, but they were also very happy. They ran to tell Jesus' followers what had happened.

9 Suddenly, Jesus met them and said, "Greetings." The women came up to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, "Don't be afraid. Go and tell my followers to go on to Galilee, and they will see me there."

Matthew 28:1-10 NKJV

1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.

3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.

4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.

5 But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.

6 "He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

7 "And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."

8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."

Here is the historical rendition of what has transpired in this drama of life and death eternal.

1. Jesus Christ was sent to this Earth as a man sent from God the Father.

2. He lived the most miraculous life. It was completely filled with events which were life changing to those who would allow Him to touch them. The depth of the works of Christ are alluded to in John 21:25 NKJV ~ And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

3. The life of Jesus Christ as a free man ended in the Garden of Gethsemane on the night he was betrayed by one of those who was close to Him.

4. There was then a travesty of a trial complete with a quick sentence of death by crucifixion. They took the man who had never known sin and killed Him on your behalf. He was buried in a borrowed tomb and hell began to rejoice. Jesus Christ made a decision to make a difference.

*We have been placed by Divine Destiny where we can make the difference.

*We have been fought tooth and nail by the enemy who will do all that he can do to make sure your life is ineffective.

*If you do not respond to the task at hand, it will not get done.

*Your drop in the bucket does make an eternal difference.

*Your life will be unfulfilled unless your respond to your call.

Three Trumpets

1) Repent

2) Return to Doctrine

3) Miracles and Soul-Winning

*Salvation ~ 2 Corinthians 6:2 NKJV ~ For He says: "In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

*Repentance ~ 2 Peter 3:9 NKJV ~ The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

*Restoration ~ Galatians 6:1 NKJV ~ Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.

*Healing ~ Malachi 4:2 NKJV ~ But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.

*Evangelism ~ Mark 16:15-18 NKJV ~ And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Matthew 5:6-12 NKJV

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

12 "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 28:9 NKJV ~ And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.

Luke 24:50-53 NKJV

50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.

51 Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.

52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

53 and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.

It is established here today is that when Jesus saw them - they saw each other for the first time after a trip to hell and back - His word to them was REJOICE. Today is the day to REJOICE IN HIM.
